Mom & Dad's Mission Log April 29, 2015

We have had a wonderful time so far on our mission. Here are a few highlights of the week of training.

Tuesday the 21st: First speaker was the stake president. He told us to remember the 3 L's Listen to the spirit, Log it (write it down) and Live it (go forth and do what the Lord ask you to do). Offer your whole sole to the Lord. Come to the mountain to be healed (teach, preach, testify & heal).

Next speaker was Sister Greenouch. Heavenly Father is guiding someone to camp for you to touch. Crank it up a notch- to make a difference..

Next speaker was Bro. Whimpy. Who am I, & How did I get here? Life goes by fast. He told how Zion's camp was to help the Lord test and prove His chosen apostles. 9 of the 12 men chosen to be apostles were in Zions Camp. He showed a video how Brigham Young was converted by a simple testimony being born.

Next was Bro. Riddle spoke on Listen, log & live as the Holy Ghost teaches you. When thou art converted strengthen thy brother. You will succeed as you learn to receive by the spirit. Divine aid can be ours everyday.

Pres. Brown asked are you Sheep herders or shepherds? He told a story about a bully who was 5 yrs old who stood in front of the steps to go up a slide and wouldn't let anyone go up them. while everyone was afraid of the boy who was large for his age his 3 yr old went up to him and HUGGED him. The bully's heart melted and allowed the other kids to use the slide. Then he told a story about him and his son being in a car driving when his wife speed past them. He was shocked and started to try to catch up to her and their green Cambry. His son told his dad "That isn't mom" But he was certain it was. And decided to teach his son a lesson on humility and prove that he was right. He started to drive recklessly in order to catch up. After a long time he finally caught up to the green Cambry and to his surprise his son was right. He asked "How did you know that wasn't your mom?" His son's reply was, "Because we are in the Green Cambry".

Next was Bro. Randall of the 70. Teach with the Spirit. Make this a full time mission and a branch. D&C 56:17 There is a pattern in all things. Rather than Quarenteen them Immunize. them so they know what to do. He old a story about a little girl who was in a plane crash whose name was Sailor. Everyone on board was killed but her. She was hurt and it was starting to get cold and dark, so she started to walk. She got to the top of a hill and saw a light in the distance. That gave her hope and she walked to the light. She was saved and her family and the others were found because of her courage and faith. Help others to begin to believe. We need to focusing on the lost, less active etc. It is easier to keep them active than to reactivate. teach to deepen testimonies. by 1. How to keep Sabbath holy at church. 2. How to keep Sabbath holy at home.

Wed. 22nd Carry pink cards always. Young Women's theme & Mission of the camp. Then we separated into learning about the different positions (callings) at the camp. Because of weather problems the schedule was being changed.

Thursday 23rd more classes on positions up at camp. At 3:00 pm we all went into the chapel and were told where we would be serving. Elder & Sister Holliday are camp host at the Reeder camp. then we along with all of the other camp host were moved to the mountain.

Friday 24th Elder Holliday left at 7:30 AM to help move other missionaries to the mountain. Then he worked on getting everyone hooked up to the sewer, water and electricity. Hooray! we have water and sewer! Elder Holliday and I covered our 50' hose with insalation. It snowed on us 3 times today. I hung the family picture. Hooray!

Saturday 25th It snowed all day. Elder Holliday was gone most of the day helping hook up the last of the missionaries.

Sunday 26st Church was wonderful. The rest of the day was terrible.

Monday 27th We went to meetings all day for Camp Host only. Being trained on our duties as camp host. Elder Holliday is converted to being a camp host. We are watchmen. Be the handle on the door, not the lock. Be open - listen to other's ideas and work together. D&C 88:119 organize yourselves. Get expandable folders, get to know your camp. P-day started at 5:00 PM so we headed home. Spent the evening with Rich, Kari and kids, Den, and Jared, Holly & kids. It was so much fun.

Tuesday 28th. Elder Holliday and I did some shopping for things we need for camp host. We packed the truck so we can leave early tomorrow morning for the Salt Lake Temple. All of the missionaries are going to the temple tomorrow, then to lunch at the Joseph Smith memorial building, then back to camp.

I want you all to know that I love you all very much. Be Happy :) be healthy :) and remember that you are loved. It is late and I need to go for now. Love Mom Holliday

Wow! Thanks Mom! It sounds like you're getting some great training for life, not just for being camp hosts! Thanks for sharing! I'm so excited for you guys, camp host is the perfect job for you! Btw, I changed the formatting a little to make it easier to read, hope that's ok. Left everything else the same.

I was in a rush when I entered it. I got up at 1:30 AM because I couldn't sleep and remembered that I had not entered anything and we were going to the temple in the morning. So thank you for changing it. Love you tons Mom
