Week 4

So its a new year, hopefully it will get easier to get more points now that the holidays are behind us. Here is the tally for week 4. Totals on the side.
  1. Mom 60
  2. Kim 45
  3. Dave 38
  4. Ethan 30
  5. Heather 18
  6. Adrienne 15
As soon as I hear from Kari and Dennis I'll get them up here too. Richy said he was giving up, but I think he'll start up again now that the holidays are past. Maybe he'll have points for week 5...

This last week was the hardest for me. I really wanted to eat treats a lot this week, I was pretty good though. I ate after 8 pm one night (New Year's Eve) and didn't even realize it until too late! I was bummed! Working out remains the most difficult thing for me! I just am having a hard time finding the motivation... Any tips?

Last week my family was in town. My Mom stayed at our place and we all had a really good time. This meant, however, that I had to take a little vaycay from point counting. It's not worth refusing treats or eating after 8 (especially when your Mom is taking you out to dinner)when fam's in town. That would have been miserable and totally not worth it. As a result, I probably ate more chocolate than I should have, but I had a fun and memorable time. No guilt. On the other hand, now that the holidays are officially over, I have a renewed determination to do better on the exercising. Yeah!! (I need it!)

Kim, here's the thing. It's NEW YEARS EVE. Why in the heck are you getting bummed? Is it really worth getting bummed over one point during festivities? No. Keep things in perspective. We need to be balanced in our physical AND emotional health. As for getting motivated- that is tricky and something everyone struggles with. With me, I have to make the mental point to exercise the night before and decide exactly when I will do it. Otherwise, if I think, "Today I need to make sure to exercise sometime" I always get too busy or forget. Also, I like to post pictures of Scotland all around my treadmill. I realize Scotland doesn't do it for everybody, but it reminds me that I want to stay in shape so that I can someday be a 3 Peaker (hike the three highest peaks in Great Britain)- my ultimate goal!

I was just bummed in the moment I realized I was past the point of no return... from then on out I was like, "Hey! I already lost the point, might as well eat all I want!" :)

My motivation is trying to out do or be just as good as the week before. I like trying to get into shape. This has really helped me out. I just needed something to get me off of my behind. You are awsome. Maybe when you see me again I will look better. Hopefully you will notice a difference. Heather & Kari have both asked me if I have been loosing weight. And that makes me want to continue to do good.

Love you tons.
