I did a search online to see how much water I should be drinking a day and found this little "quiz" at about.com. According to this I should be drinking approximately 82 oz. of fluid a day, so the 48 oz. is a definite low ball number and the milk and/or juice that I drink can make up for some of the difference (though I probably drink 56-64 oz. of water most days).
Go check out how much you should be drinking. If it says less than 48 oz. let me know and we'll figure something out. You can also read this article about why we need water.

I'm still trying to figure out how to handle some of the other questions/concerns that have come up. The points are set up so that it is fair for everyone. When we start making exceptions for one person because of this and another person because of that, I'm afraid the point system loses its integrity. I'm hoping to get an outsider to help me figure out the best way to handle your questions. I'll be sure to have answers soon!

Ok Kim, here's the thing. When I drink that much water I spend most of my day peeing. I really don't have that kind of time during the day to be zipping and unzipping, tucking and untucking,etc. I figure if I just sip enough from my 8oz(?) until I'm satisfied that that is good enough for my body (and I will count that as a point). Also, I kind of have issues with the "government" styled pyramid. It really is not that accurate for optimal nutritional needs. Plus, the "government" came up with it and I really have a hard time trusting those jackals (breast exams anyone??) Therefore, I will be constructing my own pyramid. If anyone is interested, you can contact me. My pyramid will actually be more "pie" like and will include a healthy antioxidant rich "dark chocolate" pie piece. Heather

Wow! That was an interesting post from Heather. I am looking forward to hopefully loosing some weight with all of your help. I know that when I drink 64oz of water a day, I do loose weight. I need to loose, so this is good for me. It also makes me feel better physically. That makes me feel better emotionally. So it is a win win for me.
