OK, so I know some of you are a little scared of blogging...thinking its more difficult than it actually is. Well let me tell you, once you are signed in (as an author) you can click on "New Post" in the upper right corner. That will bring you to a white page with some text boxes. One is labeled Title, another Link, and then there is a big box wherein you type what you want to say. You can do this in either Edit HTML or Compose (located at the top right corner of this big text box). On the upper left of this box there are some icons (they're different for HTML and Compose mode).
Lets say you choose Compose, now you can choose your font, size of text, bold, italic, and color of your text. You can also decide if you want your text left, center, or right aligned. Let me make it clear that you DO NOT HAVE to do any of these things, if you just want the plain old text (it is generally more than sufficient) it is already programmed for you!
Now, look at the far right icons. There is a little photo and a little film strip. These are what you click if you want to add... you guessed it... a photo or a movie clip. This is where blogger can get a little frustrating-it can take a long time and sometimes it doesn't work, but usually it does.
Photos: Click on the photo box. A new box will pop up entitled Blogger: Upload Images. You have two choices, Add an image from your computer, Or Add an image from the web. If you're choosing a picture from your computer you click on the button "choose file" and then browse your computer to find the picture you want to add, you'll double click this picture or click once and then click open. You can add more photos (I think 5 is the maximum it will allow to upload at one time). After you've selected all your photos, you'll click the Upload image button on the bottom of the box (the orange one). The box should now tell you that it is loading and that your images are being uploaded to blogger. This may take some time depending on your connection. When it is finished, a new box will appear with your photos, it will say that after you click Done (the blue button) you can add the photos to your blog. They will then appear in the big text box and you can place them where you want them.

A video is pretty much the same thing...click the film strip, then browse your computer files (though it is a different box-you do the same thing), now once you've selected your video you need to name it...I don't know what this step is for. Click on the I agree to the terms... and then upload video. Again, this can take some time depending on how large the file is and how fast your connection. You can continue to edit the text of your post while the video is uploading, but don't close the window or publish until its finished. I have been trying to post a video too and my connection keeps going in and out so, for now I won't be using blogger to post video. There are other options for posting pictures and videos, but I won't get into those right now.
Once you've done all the text, photos, and videos that you want in your post (I like to title all my posts, so I can find them in the archives) you can click Preview (just under Compose) to see if it looks like you want it to... or you can skip that step and just click Publish Post on the bottom left (orange button). When you've published your post a page will appear that lets you know it succeeded and contains a link to "view blog".
It is really straight forward... especially if you're only doing text. Blogger makes it pretty easy to do photos and videos once you're in and doing it. That's it! Easy as 1, 2, 3!
