H & S Family 2013 Travelogue: Coeur d'Alene edition

I apologize, again. I seem to have a penchant for subjecting you all with our
family's vacations. Since I don't have a blog of my own, I feel
compelled to hijack this one in order to record our memories. And,
unfortunately for you, this will be a long two parter. Afterwards,
I will post a few of the pictures that I managed to take of our
recent reunion and restore order to the blog. In the mean time, kick back
and relax, this may take a while...

'
We are kicking off our Couer D'Alene/Glacier trip with
a walk downtown. Here are my kids violating Mudgy
                                           the Moose. Seriously, kids! (sigh).
The Cd'A candy shop. I found THE BEST
                                                     hot cocoa there.
Skye had cool hair that day and got lots of compliments,
so we had to document it.

The beach at Cd'A lake.

Family hike.

Don't know how to delete duplicates, sorry.

Our cute "posey" picture. Getting  on the log was
such an ordeal, I'm just impressed
everyone was looking at the camera at the same time.

Ethan had a birthday while we were in Cd'A.
I had him choose what he wanted to do for
his special day. He thought it might be fun to
explore an old gold mine. After the gold mine
tour the kids got to pan for gold. They got to keep
anything they found, which was a lot of pretty
rocks and fools gold.

Gold mining fun!

Later that night Sean and I took Ethan out for a
birthday dinner at Scruds. They have excellent burgers.
I you finish one of their million lb stuffed, artery clogging,
instant coronary inducing Scrud burger you can
write your name on the wall. We sat at the
"missionary" booth, where many a Mormon elder
conquered the Scrud.
Happy birthday, Ethan!

This isn't Cd'A. This picture was supposed to be an
intro to part 2. Oh well, now its a
segue way. This is just outside Glacier. It's a
special bear reserve where you pay some money
and your first born (Ethan seems to get sold a lot),
to view bears in their "natural habitat".
 It's
really just a glorified bear zoo, but it was still cool.
You had to keep your widows rolled up so the
pictures aren't great, but we were able to catch
an "artistic" shot of an old pudgy guy in the
side mirror.

Heather you are sooooo silly! We want to see and here about your family and trips! Thank you for sharing. I loved all of the pictures and the story that goes with them. Skye's hair was quite impressive. I can see why you got a lot of comments on it. Love the bear picture too. Can't wait for part 2!!!!!!!!!!

Love you tons. Mom Holliday
