Halloween (barely) @ The (S&H) Holliday House

Halloween was kind of pathetic at our house which is why it didn't occur to me (very much at least) to post pictures. Also, I suck at posting. Someone needs to teach me how to set up text and pics in the cool way Kim does. I'm not even sure these pictures are going to work- my Picasa is jacked up (indirectly Richy's fault, of course!). Anyhooo, Spencer really rose to the occasion with fake hair spirit gummed and all, but the rest were half hearted, or no hearted as in the case of Ethan. Ethan struggled with the question of whether he was too old or not to trick or treat. The fact that he just had two cavities filled tipped the scale in favor of "too old"- so no costume this year. Gavin took his costume from the dress up box. Not too original, but it saved his poor mother from headache. However, his costume was a bit big and Batman's girdle-thing looks like a diaper to me- kinda funny. It was cold so Skye wore a turtleneck and nice thick multi colored striped tights underneath her Cinderella dress. Secretly I dubbed her the "Punky Brewster" Cinderella. I'm amazed she even has a half smile here. She was not a happy camper the whole night (or, more fittingly said, she was not a perky Punky). The minute she came home from trick or treating she threw up and went to bed. We figured that was a good idea. Everone else was in bed by 8:30. Sean and I were sawing logs by 10:00. Happy Halloween!

Oh I'm sorry that Skye was so sick! She does look cute though... and I love that you dubbed the Punky Brewster Cinderella... that's just awesome! I love Spencer's costume, but is he a pirate or a jedi? Maybe a pirating jedi? And I recognize that pillow case... glad its still getting some use! :) Ethan is so grown up, I never would have guessed that one of your kids would ever be too old to trick or treat Heather. I remember you dressing up (like serious dressing up) for years and years...

I'm not sure how its indirectly Richy's fault, but it made me laugh! :) Hope you're having a great day and THANK YOU!!!! You are awesome!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the pictures. We didn't get to see your kids in their costumes. Spencer looks awsome. I laughed at your description of Gavin's looking like a diaper. I agree with you. That is too funny. Skye made a beautiful princess. I love her hair. So sorry to hear that she was sick. I agree with Kim when it comes to one of your kids not dressing up and going treat or treat. You haven't set any rules have you. Sean had to stop at 12 along with all of our kids, but Ethan is only 11. He is too old for his age.

Love you tons. Mom Holliday
